67X Toronado








Forty two years ago, in celebration of Canada's Centenary at Expo 67, Imperial Oil Canada commissioned Barris Kustom Indistries to custom-build four 67' Oldsmobile Toronados with a futuristic look. The models were called the "67X" and were given away as prizes in a national competition. This is one of only two still known to exist.  
The owner of the one shown here says it cranks and runs, but will need a complete body-off restoration. I'm a big George Barris fan, but the styling on the 67X was pretty far out there.

This is an abomination. Oldsmobile had already stated to screw up the Toronado aftr its' 1966 debut - but this is beyond the pale. . .
